Money Saving Expert founder Martin Lewis has admitted he’s feeling “intimidated” ahead of having to appear on both ITV and the BBC this week. The financial expert explained that he feared “backlash” due to the “overexposure” he is facing.
Martin, 50, took to Twitter today to share his sense of trepidation with his 1.7 million followers.
“I’m intimidated by the week ahead,” he wrote, listing his timetable for the week below.
“Today: MSE weekly email,” the list began. “Tomorrow: GMB presenting, TM phone in, Ask Martin on @bbc5Live.
“Thur 8:30: @itvmlshow special, Fri: budget-not-budget.”
The presenter then went on to confess: “I feel overexposed (which invites backlash) as everything is coinciding, can’t wait for it to calm down.” (sic)
Martin’s followers took to the comments section to share messages of reassurance for the busy finance pro.
Journalist Jack Mendel advised: “Delete Twitter from your phone.
“Tweet when you have something to say, from a desktop, then leave it. Try and ignore the reaction if possible.”
Ger commented: “You rarely put a foot wrong, we have every confidence in you!”
While PeaBea added: “I am very grateful for all the information you put out Martin.
“You are one of the only voices I trust out there right now so keep shouting, thank you.” (sic)
Michele Claire wrote: “Take one day at a time, try to relax, stay in the present, working through each item as it happens (after prep) and don’t worry about the rest of the week.

Steph Greaves penned: “Lots of us appreciate everything you do for the ordinary person. Much much more than Govt.
“Thank you for all you do, it matters, & is incredibly helpful. Just wish you were our PM, or at least Chancellor,” she added with a winking emoji. (sic)
While Stuart Houghton asked in wonderment: “What drives you Martin? If I had your Money I’d be sitting on a beach somewhere.”
The financial expert replied: “It’s what I do. And I feel a responsibility to keep doing it after what it has done for me.”
