Love Island stars Maura Higgins and Lucie Donlan ‘end close friendship after luxury holiday together’
They were once best friends after meeting in the Love Island villa in 2019.
But Maura Higgins and Lucie Donlan have reportedly fallen out after going on a luxury holiday together.
Cracks began to show last autumn, when Maura, 32, allegedly blindsided Lucie, 25, by unfollowing her on Instagram.
It’s now been reported that the problems began in December 2021, when the two reality stars went to the Maldives for a lavish getaway.
The Sun reports that since the trip the pair of pals have drifted further and further apart and are now no longer friends.

Beginning of the end: It’s now been reported that the problems began in December 2021, when the two reality stars went to the Maldives for a lavish getaway
Maura is currently believed to be single, while Lucie is engaged to fellow Love Islander Luke Mabbott.
A source told the publication: ‘Lucie and Maura just drifted apart – it was fun when they were both single and going on holidays together but Lucie’s settling down in Cornwall with her fiancé and Maura lives in London.
‘When Maura unfollowed Lucie though, it was a bit of a shock – clearly they weren’t as close as Lucie thought they were, as it was a bit of a harsh move and ended the friendship on a bit of a sour note.’
The two became close in the villa and remained friends afterwards, with Lucie modelling co-star Maura Higgins’ Ann Summers swimsuit collection.
She shared the racy snap of her posing in the plunging costume on the beach with the caption: ‘Always supporting my girl @maurahiggins #womensupportingwomen’
In an interview after leaving the villa, Lucie opened up about her friendship with Maura, saying that while they didn’t get off to the best start, they became best friends and supported each other through hard times.
‘It took me a while to trust Maura but now she’s my best friend in the villa,’ she said. ‘She really supported me through everything.’
BFFs: Fans have long since speculated that the reason for the pair’s fallout was Maura’s close friendship with fellow Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague
Fans have long since speculated that the reason for the pair’s fallout was Maura’s close friendship with fellow Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague.
Despite Maura and Molly-Mae being close, both Lucie and Molly-Mae admitted that they were not friends with each other.
Molly-Mae told Metro in 2019: ‘I do still see the people that I was close with in the villa, and Lucie and I weren’t close in the villa.
‘So she would say that because I’d say the same about her because we don’t speak, we weren’t close. And obviously circumstances just mean that we’re not close like that.’
