Meghan Markles ex-pal says writing on the wall for couple after Harry rumours

Meghan Markle’s ex-friend Lizzie Cundy has claimed there could be truth behind rumours the Sussexes are about to split.

Separation rumours have circled Meghan and Prince Harry recently after a rollercoaster year.

Factors like financial woes, their deal with Spotify coming to an end, the release of Harry’s controversial memoir Spare and his subsequent row with King Charles and Prince William have all come into play.

Some claimed the couple has been living separate lives and Harry has been staying in a hotel, while others said Markle was spending most of her time in Los Angeles while her husband looked after the children.

Although another friend has maintained the rumours are “literally made up”, Lizzie has offered a different perspective.

She said the “writing is on the wall” for Harry and that Meghan found her duties “tough” before they left the Royal Family.

“I don’t want to see any couples split up when any marriage falls apart it’s sad, especially when you have children,” Lizzie said.

“We could all see the writing was on the wall, it’s very different when you’re a celebrity princess than being a royal princess and frankly Meghan just wasn’t up for the job.”

In an interview with the Mirror, Meghan’s former friend suggested she didn’t enjoy the hard work that goes into being a royal.

“I think Meghan thought she was going to be the top dog star of the show,” she said. “And Princess Kate was always going to have that role.”

However, Lizzie also suggested an alleged split could be the best thing for them.

“He’s in California now, he’s got none of his friends,” she explained.

“He’s got no family, he’s got a rift with his father and his brother, it must be very lonely at times.”

For now, though, there’s nothing official to suggest Meghan and Harry will be announcing their divorce any time soon.

“It’s not true. It’s literally made up,” an insider told Page Six after the rumours hit the headlines.
