Molly-Mae Hague and Michelle Keegan lead stars congratulating Kate Ferdinand on baby news
Former TOWIE star Kate Ferdinand has announced that she is expecting her second child with husband Rio Ferdinand and the couple's celebrity pals have been quick to congratulate the two of them.
The news came on Sunday morning when Kate, 31, took to Instagram to share a black and white clip in which she can be seen showing off her baby bump.
She captioned the post: "We’ve been praying for you …"
Kate looked glowing as she wore a black dress and boots paired with a coat. The music Lovin' You by Minnie Riperton played over the video.
Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague, actress Michelle Keegan and former TOWIE regular Billie Shepherd led a chorus of celebs and fans in congratulating Kate on her news.
Commenting beneath Kate's post, Molly said: "Congratulations Kate."
Meanwhile, Billie wrote: "Huge congratulations darling."
Michelle added, "Congratulations darling."
Also congratulating the couple was Mrs Hinch, who replied: "Congratulations how amazing xxxx," and Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison, who said: "Omg babe! Congratulations."
Fans also wished the couple well, with one writing: "Ah that’s such amazing news for you, Rio and the children" and a second commented: "You deserve this and more darling."
The news comes just six months after Kate and Rio suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage. One fan said the couple's news gave her "so much hope".
They said: "Congratulations. This gives me so much hope. I lost my baby around the same time as you in the same way last year. This gives me hope."
Last year Kate opened up about how she had suffered a devastating miscarriage and had to have surgery following her 12 week scan.
At the time she posted a black and white image of herself in a hospital gown to Instagram.
She wrote: "The last time I was in this hospital I was having Cree, but this time it was because our baby had no heartbeat in our 12 week scan and I had to have surgery," followed by a heartbroken emoji.
"We were so excited & planning a space for our new baby in our family, we just couldn’t wait to share our news with you all, but unfortunately sometimes life just doesn’t go as we plan.
"So much to say, but somehow I can’t find the words. Absolutely devastated & heartbroken …but couldn’t be more grateful for the hugs I got from my big(er) babies coming through the door when we arrived home," with a broken heart emoji and a praying hands emoji.
Rio and Kate married back in 2019 in a beautiful beach ceremony in Marmaris, Turkey, after three years of dating. Kate then became the stepmum of Rio's three children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 13, and Tia, 11, who he shared with his late wife Rebecca Ellison, who passed away in 2015 after a short battle with breast cancer.
And in December 2020, Kate and Rio welcomed their first child together, Cree.
