More Than 800 Janet Jackson Items Headed To Auction
More than 800 illustrious items owned by Janet Jackson are going up for auction. The auction is being conducted by Julien’s Auctions, the auction house to the stars.
“From The Special Collection Of Global Icon Janet Jackson,” the music auction event of the year honoring the enduring legacy of one of the most influential cultural figures of all time, will be held on May 21 live at Hard Rock Cafe, New York, and online at Julien’s Live.
On display and heading to the auction stage will be a dazzling collection of Jackson’s famous costumes worn in her iconic music videos, record-breaking world tours and acclaimed live television performances, as well as from her life away from the spotlight, such as select custom-made pieces from her personal wardrobe and beloved home furnishings. The range of items also includes her fashion defining red carpet ensembles worn to prestigious events such as the BET Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, and gala movie premieres.
Highlights of the auction include a Dexter Wong white long-sleeve puckered shirt and an off-white faux-leather bikini top worn by Janet in the 1995 “Scream” music video with her brother Michael Jackson.
An exclusive exhibition preview of this collection has started at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, while another exhibition is set to take place at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, beginning May 8.
One of the biggest-selling musical artists in history, Jackson is set to embark on her “Together Again” tour on Friday. She will also collaborate with brother Randy Jackson to reunite the family band after 40 years since their last performance.
