Nicole Kidman is mercilessly mocked for her ‘bizarre’ runway walk at the Balenciaga fashion show: ‘She moves like a statue that just came to life’
Nicole Kidman has been roasted online over her catwalk debut at Balenciaga’s haute couture show during Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday.
The Oscar winner, 55, turned heads in a one-shouldered silver gown with detailing across the midriff and a set of opera gloves as she strutted down the runway alongside reality star Kim Kardashian and supermodel Naomi Campbell.
However, it was the Stepford Wives star’s stilted, robotic walking style that really had fans talking.

‘Why [are] they walking as if they just rose from their graves,’ another added, referring to both Kidman and Kardashian.
‘If you think Kim’s walk was awkward, please go and see Nicole Kidman’s [crying emoji],’ someone else tweeted.

Several users pointed out the marked difference between the catwalk technique of seasoned model Naomi Campbell versus Kidman, who had never set foot on a runway.
‘That’s Nicole Kidman. She’s a phenomenal actress and very tall. She does walk like a statue that just came to life [laughing/crying emoji]. The only ‘model’ in this is Naomi Campbell,’ one user said.
Others poked fun at Kidman’s outfit, comparing the metallic frock to an emergency blanket or a sheet of crumpled tin foil.

‘Now, why would they go and dress Nicole Kidman in a space blanket for a fashion show? Space blanket meets toga party, actually,’ one Twitter user quipped.
‘Can’t believe Nicole Kidman made foil look good,’ another added.
However others rushed to Kidman’s defence, with one tweeting: ‘Everyone talking about Nicole and Kim’s walks, like hello, they aren’t models like Naomi is’.

Kidman’s fingers were oddly outstretched as she applauded the winners, with only the heels of her hands appearing to make contact.
Speaking to The Kyle and Jackie O Show weeks later, the Moulin Rouge! star laughed off the incident and explained why she hadn’t wanted her fingers to touch.
Kidman said she didn’t want to damage the 119 carats’ worth of diamonds on her hands, including a 13.58-carat pearl-shaped diamond ring set in platinum.
‘It was really awkward, and I was like, ‘Gosh, I really want to clap,” she said.
‘I don’t want to not be clapping, which would be worse right? ‘Why isn’t Nicole clapping?”
Kim was also mocked for her runway walk, with many saying it was similar to Nicole’s
