Pete Wicks over the moon with his plan to be Carol Vordermans special friend
Pete Wicks has said he's "over the moon" to be "linked" with Carol Vorderman, following his proposal to be one of the star's "special friends" last month.
The 35 year old TOWIE star cleared up the subject while he was taking part in a podcast with pal and Made in Chelsea favourite, Sam Thompson.
Appearing on his Staying Relevant podcast, Pete explained that there's been lots of "hoopla" about him potentially having a "romance" with the former Countdown icon, who is now 62.
It all began when Pete admitted he'd like to get closer to Carol, which the latter then discovered during a filmed segment with This Morning's Holly Jay-Smith.
Giggling away at the possibility of Pete being interested in her, Carol failed to clarify her own thoughts on the possibility, simply making encouraging "ooo" noises instead.
In response to the clip, Pete fuelled fires further as he commented: “Ready when you are Carol…”
The current I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! campmate then proceeded to follow Pete on Instagram.
Sharing an update with Sam on the podcast, reality star Pete clarified: "Me and Carol had a bit of back and forth on Instagram, which I was very happy about.
"It then went into the press, and all the press picked it up. It went everywhere, where it was 'Carol Vorderman linked with Pete Wicks'.
"I've been linked with a lot of women but none as fabulous as Carol Vorderman, so I am over the moon."
In response to Pete's "ready when you are" message and Carol's subsequent noise of approval, Sam asked what that meant.
"Don't know, I'm not sure it's even a good thing," Pete joked. "All I'm saying is just watch this space, you never know what's going to happen."
It comes as Carol recently shared publicly that she often dates more than one man at the same time.
In a candid interview about her private life, the mum-of-two, who has grown-up children Katie, 31, and Cameron, 25, admitted that they even get to know most of her "special friends".
Carol also said she regularly enjoys "long-term relationships if you like" with the mystery men.
"One's 11 years, one's seven years, you know everyone is single," the star went on to say, explaining how she handles the various commitments.
"It's a happy place. I hasten to add I'm not into one-night stands," Carol added at the time.
