Peter Andre, 49, says going sober 10 years ago made massive difference to looks
Peter Andre has admitted going sober 10 years ago has made a “massive difference” to his looks.
Opening up about how he stays in shape and looking younger than his 49 years, Pete confessed that going teetotal has played a big part.
Writing in his column, Pete said: “I strongly believe in being active most days.
"I love doing things like sprints, weight training or a light jog, but that’s not to say I don’t have weeks off where I don’t exercise at all and I eat what I want – it’s all about balance.
“I also stopped drinking around 10 years ago and I think that’s made a massive difference and I definitely do feel better for it.
“I’m 50 next year and I can honestly say I feel fantastic. And I must say thank you to everyone who commented and made me feel young as I really appreciate it.”
The singer’s comments came after fans praised the dad-of-four for a shirtless snap he shared on his Instagram to his 1.8 million followers.
He wrote: “I posted a picture of myself on Instagram last week, where I was by the pool in Cyprus.
“People have been lovely with their comments and some were asking me how I stay in shape.
“Those of you who know me know that I live by the “It’s fine” motto. I believe in absolute balance of the food you love as well as being active.
“That’s why Ben Smith and I created the app #itsfine. I don’t deprive myself of anything and I don’t count daily calories, I just eat foods I love, including pizza, pasta and doughnuts.
“But for every meal that’s classed as naughty I add an equal amount of healthy fruits and salads.”
Pete’s wife, NHS doctor Emily, 33, is also teetotal and previously told OK! she hasn’t had a drink since enjoying a glass of champagne on her and Pete’s wedding day back in 2015.
Opening up about deciding to quit drinking, Emily wrote in her OK! column: “I used to get horrible hangovers, I felt bloated and I didn’t sleep well.

“A lot of drinking comes from social pressure and Denise [Van Outen] said some people have called her boring.
!In the beginning, I didn’t know if I wanted to tell people I didn’t drink, but now I don’t care. You wouldn’t tell someone they are boring for not smoking. I just think you have to own the decision.
!No one has ever told me I’m boring for not drinking, but if they did it wouldn’t bother me. I always joke I’m less boring because I don’t need a drink to go out!”
