Piers Morgan’s Twitter account totally wiped after being hacked

Piers Morgan’s Twitter account appears to have been wiped after appearing to be hacked over the weekend.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter, 57, who has 8.3 million followers on the social media site, had no profile picture, banner image or posts as of Tuesday morning.

According to reports, his account shared posts containing false information, racial slurs and abusive messages directed at the late Queen and singer Ed Sheeran.

Piers' Instagram account appears to be operating normally.

The presenter, who recently joined TalkTV as the host of its Uncensored show after quitting Good Morning Britain, has not publicly addressed the hack.

However, his programme’s official account tweeted: “In case you were wondering, @piersmorgan has been hacked.

“Any chance of getting him back, @elonmusk?" they added.

Piers is a regular Twitter user, using the social media app to voice his controversial opinions on topics ranging from Cristiano Ronaldo’s football career to Rihanna.

Most recently, the presenter lashed out at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over their Netflix series, amid the public backlash over Jeremy Clarkson’s column.

The article, which saw Jeremy express his "hate" for the Duchess of Sussex, calling for her to be "shamed" as Cersei Lannister was in infamous Game of Thrones scenes.

Amid the outrage, Piers tweeted: "Imagine if all those screaming with rage about Jeremy Clarkson felt the same protective anger towards those who’ve branded our Royal Family callous lying racist bullies – without producing any actual evidence for these cruel allegations?”

However, Piers stated that he did not support the former Top Gear host despite attending a lunch with him and Queen Consort Camilla that month.

He even told one Twitter user: “I wouldn’t, no. I’m not defending what Clarkson wrote, I’m just asking where the same anger is towards the lies/smears hurled at the Royal Family."

Of course, Piers is no stranger to controversy and has become a divisive figure in recent years.

Earlier this month, the Metropolitan Police said no further action would be taken against a man suspected of sending death threats to Piers and his family online.

On Twitter, Piers complained there is a “big problem with how big tech operates its safety procedures”.

He even tweeted a screenshot of one of the threats, posted on a photo of him and his family, which originally began in early 2021.
