PnB Rock Targeted Through Location-Revealing IG Post, LAPD Chief Confirms
Minutes before being killed by a robber who allegedly targeted his jewelry, the Philadelphia rapper’s girlfriend Stephanie Sibonheuang posted an IG Story of their chicken and waffle meal and the restaurant’s location.
AceShowbiz -Details surrounding PnB Rock‘s tragic death have been unveiled. According to Los Angeles Police Department Chief Michel Moore, the late 30-year-old hip-hop artist was targeted through social media posts that he and his girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang uploaded minutes before he was fatally shot.
On Wednesday, September 14, Michel confirmed that the late Philadelphia-born rapper was indeed targeted. He further stated that investigators believe two Instagram posts led the suspect(s) to the “Selfish” spitter’s location in Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant.
Chief Michel added the rapper and his girlfriend each made posts while at the restaurant. Apparently, PnB Rock made a post while sitting in a Cadillac Escalade behind the restaurant, when they first pulled up. A second post was then shared by Stephanie while the two were seated at their table inside the restaurant on Monday, September 12.
According to LAPD officials, on the day of the murder, a masked African American gunman confronted PnB Rock in an attempt to steal his jewelry. Things went left and the rapper was shot several times.
Los Angeles police Capt. Kelly Muniz said in a statement that the shooting took place at 1:15 P.M. Then at around 1:29 P.M., after PnB Rock was escorted to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
As for now, cops are reportedly alerting local pawn shops to keep an eye out for the jewelry stolen off the rapper’s neck. According to TMZ, LAPD believes that the murderer would want to get rid of the jewelry quickly as it would directly link him to the crime if he kept it.
Subsequently, many people on social media, including fellow rap stars, began to roast Stephanie for “dry-snitching” and sharing her rapper boyfriend’s location and blame her for his death. Calling out the young woman, Nicki Minaj tweeted, “After Pop Smoke there’s no way we as rappers or our loved ones are still posting locations to our whereabouts. To show waffles & some fried chicken????!” She added, “He was such a pleasure to work with. Condolences to his mom & family. This makes me feel so sick. Jesus.”
Kodak Black, in the meantime, said Stephanie should commit suicide following PnB Rock’s death. “Ion usually speak on deaths! Go to funerals or nun kuz life goes on but…SMH PNB was my boy I was jus OTP wit em last night!” he wrote in an Instagram Story. “We be talkin bout him comin back out & poppin his s**t again in this rap s**t. THAT H*E MIGHT AS WEL KILL HERSELF.”
Defending Stephanie was Cardi B. Taking to Twitter, the “Bodak Yellow” raptress wrote, “I highly doubt nikkas was looking at PMB’s babymom IG. He was in a bad location and people stay outside plotting. It’s very irresponsible and inconsiderate to blame her for something so tragic. We should be sending nothing but love to her and his family at this time.”
One week before he was fatally shot, PnB Rock himself told DJ Akademiks that he was confronted by some “bold” L.A. gang members while out and about with Stephanie. “Somebody tried me on Fairfax, like, mid-pandemic. They see me with my family and they think I’m lacking. Where I’m from [Philadelphia], we like sneaky criminals. In LA, it’s like they bold.” He further recalled, “N***as was talking loud as s**t wanting me to hear their conversation and it’s like, ‘I’m with my peoples, my daughter and my girl. Why are they talking about this gangsta s**t? What the f**k is going on?’ “
