Pregnant Stacey Dooley enjoys relaxed evening as she shares update ahead of birth

Stacey Dooley enjoyed a relaxed evening as she prepares for the birth of her first child with her partner and Strictly star, Kevin Clifton.

Whilst she hasn’t announced her exact due date, mum-to-be Stacey recently revealed that she is on maternity leave via Instagram post in December.

As she gets ready for her new arrival, the 36 year old presenter has been trying to relax after taking a break from her hectic filming schedule.

Stacey shared an update with fans, with an Instagram post featuring her luxurious home with several stunning candles on the marble fireplace.

Taking some time for herself, the former Strictly Come Dancing star had also lit an incense stick, which flickered against the cream-coloured walls and her beautiful Women In Film award, which she received last year.

The tranquil image also showed a bottle of home fragrance from luxury brand LOEWE, which retails for nearly £100 in stores.

She captioned the pic with a snail emoji, hinting that she's eagerly awaiting the arrival of her little one.

Fans on Instagram emphasised with the star, acknowledging how hard it was to relax in the final weeks of pregnancy.

One wrote in the comments: “The waiting game can be sooo difficult, but baby will come when he/she is good ‘n’ ready…A love you’ve never felt before is coming your way!”.

Others also encouraged Stacey to enjoy the serene last few weeks before her baby is born.

Another fan added: “You’ll know soon enough when the wee one is ready to come into the world. In the meantime, your body is fine-tuning in preparation for what it does best. Take it easy.”

Fans also told the star to enjoy her bump, with one follower writing that she’d missed it after the birth.

They wrote: “Don’t rush it along, the baby will arrive under it’s own steam. You will miss your bump and the warm installation that comes with it. Slow down rest and relax as the madness will resume shortly.”

It comes just a few weeks after Stacey was “mum-shamed” for speaking about a bottle steriliser, in a recent Instagram post.

Sharing a photo of her blossoming bump in a beige co-ordinating outfit, the star spoke about going on maternity leave and admitted that she hadn't bought a steriliser yet.

Almost immediately, fans speculated about Stacey's decision in the comments.

In one damming comment, a fan told the presenter: “Breastfeeding doesn’t require sterilisers #normalisebreastfeeding".

This is despite Stacey not stating whether she would breastfeed or not.

Thankfully, she received some sage advice from another mum in the comments, who said: "Don't feel any pressure to feed your baby any other way than how you feel most comfortable Stacey. You're going to be great."
