Prince Charles and William ‘see no way back’ for Prince Andrew amid royal rift

Prince Charles and William “see no way back” for disgraced Prince Andrew amid a royal rift in the family, a source reports.

The Duke of York, 62, is reportedly in “intense talks” with the Queen about his future after spending several days alone with his mother on her summer break at Balmoral in the Scottish Highlands.

This comes after Andrew allegedly refused to speak to his brother Charles and nephew William after the pair blocked his so-called ‘comeback’ plans.

Andrew has been forced to take a backseat from public life since his multi-million-pound payout to sex abuse accuser Virginia Giuffre.

The sexual assault allegations against him resurfaced following the death of his former friend Jeffrey Epstein in 2019.

He was stripped of all his patronages and military titles and has been trying to get his royal roles reinstated. Earlier this month, it was reported that Andrew has asked his mother to reinstate his HRH title as he is a “Prince of the Blood” but it was rejected by the Queen earlier this summer.

"He feels that should be reinstated and his position recognised and respected,” an insider said.

Andrew now wants a new position to see out his days and is said to have spent three days with the Queen, The Sun on Sunday reports.

His daughters and their families, brother Prince Edward, his wife Sophie and their two children, along with Prince Charles and Camilla have since joined the Queen and Andrew in Scotland.

The Sun reports that a friend of Andrew's said: “He is a 62-year-old man and knows that he can’t spend the rest of his days sitting around at Royal Lodge in Windsor, walking his dogs and riding horses.

"He’s thinking about what he can do. He has had discussions with the Queen about what he can do with his life.

"But there are also wider family discussions.”

Another source said: “He knows he let his mother down badly but he hasn’t been convicted of a crime. He wants to try to establish a route back.

“He’s hoping the Queen can influence Prince Charles and Prince William, who see no way back for him.

“He wanted a few days alone with his mother to talk about his future.”

Andrew lives just minutes away from his mother in the Royal Lodge and over the past few months he has occasionally been photographed driving and horse-riding on the Queen’s Windsor estate.
