Prince Harry hints he won’t attend King Charles’ coronation after bombshell claims

Prince Harry has addressed rumours around whether he'll attend his father King Charles' coronation on 6 May 2023.

In a new clip obtained by Lorraine shown on her ITV show, Harry can be seen speaking to former royal correspondent and friend Tom Bradby ahead of the release of his book, titled Spare.

"If you are invited to the coronation will you come?" Tom asks the Duke of Sussex, to which he responds: "There’s a lot that can happen between now and then."

Harry, 38, continues: "But, the door is always open. The ball is in their court. There’s a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they’re willing to sit down and talk about it."

Elsewhere in the interview, Tom says: "Wouldn’t your brother say to you, 'Harry, how could you do this to me after everything? After everything we went through?' Wouldn’t that be what he would say?”

“He would probably say all sorts of different things," Harry cryptically responds.

Tom then says: "Some people will say you’ve railed against invasions of your privacy all your life and the accusation will be here are you invading the privacy of your nearest and dearest without permission, now that will be the accusation."

Harry replies: “That would be the accusation from people that don’t understand or don’t want to believe that my family have been briefing the press.”

Harry went on to share that he still believes in the monarchy, but isn't sure whether he will be part of it in the future.

Tom previously interviewed Harry and Meghan Markle, 41,together for a documentary about their 2019 Africa Tour and was the first journalist that Meghan opened up to about her mental health struggles.

In the intimate interview due to air on Sunday 8 January, Harry will appear alone and without his wife by his side as he talks about his experience in the Royal Family.

He will talk candidly about his life, including never-before-heard-details about his mother’s death and the aftermath. Harry will also talk about his personal relationships and plans for the rest of his life after taking a backseat in the Royal Family.

It comes after an extract of the Duke of Sussex's book was recently leaked after being obtained by The Guardian.

In it, Harry alleged his brother Prince William, 40, "attacked" him during a row at his then-home of Nottingham Cottage.

William allegedly called Harry's wife "rude", "abrasive" and "difficult", while Harry accused him of "parrot[ing] the press narrative".

Harry alleged that they exchanged insults before moving to the kitchen, where he handed William a glass of water to cool down as he was "piping hot".

“He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast," Harry wrote in his book. "So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.

"I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”

William then allegedly told him that he didn't need to "tell Meg about this," to which Harry responded: "You mean that you attacked me?"

"I didn’t attack you, Harold," William allegedly replied.

Harry: The Interview is on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on 8 January.
