Prince Harry in talks with ITVs Tom Bradby about book promo interview
Prince Harry is claimed to be "in talks" about organising an interview with ITV's Tom Bradby about his upcoming memoir Spare.
Harry’s publishers at Penguin Random House have allegedly "held talks" with ITV news anchor Tom to propose a lengthy on-camera chat ahead of its release on January 10.
The source said: "The publishers want Harry to promote Spare in the UK. Tom Bradby has been close to Harry for a long time. He is someone Harry can trust.”
OK! has approached Tom and Harry's representatives for comment.
Tom, 55, is friends with both Harry, 38, and Prince William, 40, after he attended both of their weddings and William chose Tom for his exclusive engagement interview with Kate Middleton in 2010.
In 2019, Tom spoke to Harry and Meghan Markle during their royal tour of Africa. In their interview, Harry admitted he and William are on "different paths" while Meghan said she was "struggling" with royal life after Tom asked how she was.
With the rift between Harry and William, Tom spoke of the awkward position he has been in when it comes to their friendships.
Tom previously told the RadioTimes that Harry and William's falling out was “difficult” for him and that he’d felt “a little bit caught in the middle”.
Harry's Spare memoir is expected to hit shelves in the new year.
It is described as "an intimate and heartfelt memoir", promising that "Prince Harry will offer an honest and captivating personal portrait".
It comes after the trailer of Meghan and Harry's docuseries hit social media, with fans eagerly waiting for the show to drop on Netflix.
And a source from Netflix has said that the Royal family should brace themselves, as the docuseries is expected to be "worse than the royals can imagine".
"I genuinely think it’s going to be worse than the royals can imagine," they said. "I’m told that it’s going to be utterly explosive and will be very damaging.”
Royal author Jennie Bond said similarly that members of the royal family are likely to be "saddened".
"I think Harry’s book will be more controversial than the Netflix docuseries because the title is searingly honest," she told OK!.
"I imagine the royals were a bit sad when they heard the name. It’s sad that that's how he has felt all his life. It’s sad, but what can they do about it?"
Jennie continued: "It's the way the Royal family works, but it's also a way quite a lot of families work quite a lot, such as the farming community. In life, it's not as if he didn't have a role.”
