Rachel Zegler Won’t Be Doing This In ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’

In the upcoming movie, she will be singing and performing, but you won’t catch her lip-syncing!

“Dave Cobb did the music and he is incredible. His songs are earworms. They stick in your head. They’re beautiful,” producer Nina Jacobson told Variety. “Rachel often would opt not to do playback, and just sing it live. Often, after they would call cut, people would just go bananas clapping!”
Rachel‘s live vocals will actually be featured in the movie!
In response to this news on Twitter, with an account saying she chose to sing live, Rachel excitedly responded, “YES SHE DID!!!!!!”
There is a moment the producer teased she’s excited for people to see, “The big finale moment…un-f–king-believable. Her voice is jaw-dropping.”
Director Francis Lawrence also teased what the music in the film is like.
“[Author] Suzanne Collins is a country music aficionado and she has a vast knowledge of country music. Because District 12 is West Virginia, we sort of leaned toward the Appalachian sound,” he said.
