Rapper Costa Titch dies aged 27 after collapsing on stage during performance
South African rapper Costa Titch has passed away at the age of 27.
The rapper, real name Constantinos Tsobanoglou, collapsed on stage while performing at the Ultra Music Festival, and later passed away at hospital.
His family confirmed the tragic news with a statement on social media, which read: "Death has tragically knocked on our door. Robbing us of our beloved son, brother and grandson Constantinos Tsobanoglou, who South Africa had come to love and idolise under his stage name Costa Titch.
"It is with deep pain that we find ourselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time. We are thankful for the emergency responders and all those present in his last hours on earth.
They continued: "As a family we are faced with a difficult time as we try to make sense of what has befallen us and we ask that we be afforded the time and space to gather ourselves
"The Tsobanoglou family thanks you for the love and support you have given to our son, and may you continue to uplift him even in spirit. Please keep us in your prayers and uplifted in the Lord."
Fans have been quick to share their condolences online, with one writing: "RIP @costatitch. Praying & sending condolences to you and your family."
"Wow! My condolences to Costa Titch’s family and friends. Rest in heaven young king" added another.
And South African TV channel Trance tweeted: "Rest In Peace, Costa Titch. We are extremely saddened to learn about the passing of Costa “Costa Titch” Tsobanoglou
"We send our deepest condolences to his friends, family and fans during this difficult time."
