Rob Rinder welcomes Fergie to Coronation bash after King Charles snub
Judge Rob Rinder has jokingly expressed his disappointment over not being invited to King Charles III’s Coronation, in spite of getting along “famously” with him when they met.
Now he has opted to embrace “the joy of missing out” on the big event – and declared he will be spending the weekend on the sofa in his pyjamas.
However, he’s invited an extra-special guest to join him – Sarah Ferguson, who is believed not to have been invited either.
“I’m embracing the JOMAC (Joy of Missing A Coronation). It’ll be much more fun to watch on the telly with a bottle of fizzy pop,” he joked in a column for the Evening Standard.
He cheekily added: “I’ve also heard that Sarah Ferguson and various non-royal Dukes haven’t been invited either, so they’re all more than welcome to join me.

“I’ll be singing God Save the King in my jim-jams. It’ll be utterly perfect!”
The judge insisted he doesn’t mind if he never lives to see another event like it, and joked that his god-daughter had been coaching him on how to embrace the joy, rather than the fear, of missing out.
That said, he couldn’t resist the temptation to suggest in his article that he feels he fits the criteria for a Coronation invite.
He referenced his MBE and pointed out that he supports the court service and work of Her Majesty’s Police.
“Surely any new monarch would want me sitting in his Abbey? Plus I can sing along to all the hymns and won’t get drunk and nick an orb,” he continued.
Last week it was reported that Sarah Ferguson, who was married to Prince Andrew until 1996, has not received a Coronation invite either.
She was pictured on Sunday staring pensively out of the window of a 4×4 driven by her ex-husband, but has yet to make any official comment on the speculation that she hasn’t been invited.
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle is another of those who has officially decided not to attend.
She is expected to stay in California with her two children, including Archie, whose fourth birthday falls on the same day as the King’s once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Prince Harry, on the other hand, will be among the special guests.
