Robbie Williams and Aya Field open up about sexless marriage

Robbie Williams and Ayda Field hardly ever have sex with each other anymore, the couple have revealed.

The former Take That star, 49, told a national newspaper that his sex drive has almost disappeared since he stopped taking testosterone to treat his depression.

But, in a joint interview with the Sun, the Beverly Hills-based pair admitted that they’re happy with how things are between them at present and are perfectly content with cuddling and watching Netflix together.

Ayda, 43, made headlines towards the end of last year when she playfully remarked during a podcast that the couple’s sex life was “completely dead”.

The former X-Factor judge said she panicked when her words were taken out of context and splashed across newspapers weeks later and she received concerned text messages from friends.

But her husband told the Sun: “I didn’t give a s***.” The Let Me Entertain You singer continued: “No sex in a marriage is only a problem if you’re on different pages; if one person wants it, and the other doesn’t; if you have different expectations or requirements.

“But really, everyone knows there is no sex after marriage. That’s just the way it is. I was on testosterone for a while but, because I’m an addict, that had to stop.”

Robbie conceded that he and his wife were “insatiable” when he was taking testosterone and that that period of their lives was “fun”.

But he said: “Sometimes now, though, Ayda will turn to me on the sofa and say, ‘We should do sex,’ and I’m sitting there eating a tangerine and just sort of shrug. So, ya know, sometimes we try.”

Ayda explained that the couple remain very intimate but currently show their affection for each other in different ways such as cuddling, kissing, holding hands and touching each other while watching television.

Setting the record straight once and for all the actress said: “Me and Rob are on the same page. We are happy.”
