Ryan-Mark Parsons, who took part in The Apprentice in 2019, has revealed his secret to losing weight after his appearance on Celebs Go Dating forced him to make a lifestyle change.
The GB News commentator admitted he tried not to overindulge during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 but things got worse for him when life slowly got back to normal.
With gyms closed across the UK, Ryan-Mark noticed a shift in his behaviour and eating habits once lockdown restrictions were lifted and he was able to enjoy life again.
“It was during the pandemic, I began to lose weight. I was working with a brand as well. It was a big weight loss goal during that time,” he told Express.co.uk.
“In the pandemic, the gyms were closed so I was really fastidious about what I was eating.
“Then after [the pandemic] there was an explosion as restaurants opened. I was going to Soho House every evening, events, premieres and launches where you get canapes, champagne, cocktails.”
He continued: “I noticed I was going out every day and I was getting bigger and bigger. I thought, ‘This has to stop.’
“Also, when I watched Celebs Go Dating. There are six cameras on you. I could see on the cameras, ‘Oh my gosh, some of these angles are disgusting.'”

Ryan-Mark took part in the E4 dating show last year but was not happy with his appearance while watching the show back.
“I was also getting a lot of trolling and private messages about my weight,” he shared. “I’m never affected by trolling because I don’t value the opinion of a troll. But their comments made me objectively realise they may have a bit of a point.”
It was after Celebs Go Dating wrapped up he went on a “drastic diet” and decided to cut out carbohydrates and sugar.
Ryan-Mark holidayed in Greece where he dined on salads, meats and cheese and shared he had a “lifestyle revolution”.
“I don’t eat carbohydrates,” he admitted. “I haven’t had a piece of bread in about a year. I don’t eat pasta or potatoes. Some days go by and I just eat cheese and black truffle. That’s it.”
He added: “People DM me and say, ‘You’ve lost so much weight since Celebs Go Dating. What have you been doing?’
“That is literally what I’ve done cut out carbs and sugar. I was really bad with sugar.”
He no longer eats chocolates, sweets or biscuits and added it was key to his weight loss.
Ryan-Mark made history as the show’s youngest candidate during his eight-week stint on The Apprentice at the age of 19.
The former BBC contestant has gone on to forge a successful media career as a columnist and GB News commentator.
He also took part in E4’s popular matchmaking reality series Celebs Go Dating last year.
Ryan-Mark will soon make his acting debut in he comedy show, Tony’ N Tina’s Wedding.
