S Club 7 fans fume after only one member of band turns up to reunion gig
S Club 7 fans were left fuming after only one member of the group turned up to perform at an intimate sold-out reunion show.
Tina Barrett, 46, and Bradley McIntosh, 41, left fans furious after the two were scheduled to perform at the 150-capacity Wyld venue in Newport, Isle of Wight, after eager fans snapped up the £23 tickets in under 90 seconds.
However, when the gig came around, concert goers were left disappointed when only Bradley showed up for the performance after Tina suffered a scheduling clash.
In light of the mishap, fans who attended the gig shared their disappointment on Twitter about not being notified of the change.
One concert-goer wrote: “Absolutely raging!! Paid good money to see two members of S Club 7 and only one showed up. We weren’t notified about this either.”
“What a let down. Turned up to find out they can’t perform as S Club as they’ve signed a contract and no Tina. Happy to take everyone’s money though,” another tweeted.
A third added: "What a disappointing night. I felt so bad for Bradley.”
Following the furore online, a Wyld spokesman told the Isle of Wight County Press: “Sadly, this situation was out of our hands.”
The news comes after S Club 7 announced they are reuniting for a UK tour later this year in celebration of their 25th anniversary.
Their newly announced reunion tour will see all seven members of the band – Rachel Stevens, Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, Paul Cettermole and Tina Barrett – back on stage together to celebrate 25 years since the legacy began.
The band said: “After eight years it feels amazing to announce that we’re reuniting and performing together again.
“We’re so excited to bring the S Club party back to our fans across the country to celebrate 25 years of S Club 7.
“We can’t even believe it’s been so long. Music and friendship have always been at the core of everything we’ve ever done.
“We hope everyone can join us for one big party.”
The 11-date tour will open on October 13 at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena before continuing on to Sheffield, Dublin. Glasgow, Newcastle and Leeds.
On October 21, the group will play the AO arena in Manchester and then head to Cardiff on October 23 and Nottingham on October 24.
They’ll go to Birmingham on October 26 before ending the show with a bang in London’s O2 Arena on October 28.
