Sam Thompson confesses he needs to know Zara will say yes to upcoming marriage proposal

Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott have been rumoured to be getting engaged for some time now, and speaking to OK!, the pair sat down to discuss the likelihood of them getting married one day.

After Sam, 28, told us he falls "more in love" with Zara "everyday", the Made in Chelsea couple revealed they are in "no rush" to be walking down the aisle.

Love Island's Zara, 24, said: "We’re in such a good place. There’s no need to rush or change anything, because I wouldn’t be with Sam if I didn’t want to be with him forever.

"And when [an engagement] happens, it happens. If that’s in five months or five years, I really don’t mind. I genuinely trust that timing is everything."

Sam then quipped: "All I need to know is that Zara is going to say yes!"

"Even if me and Sam broke up and I got with someone else, there’d be engagement rumours again within three minutes," Zara said.

"This has been going on for us for years. People want to see you fast-track your relationship but you’ve got to remember what’s right for you."

Back in April, the Celebrity Cooking School star sent rumours of an engagement to Zara into overdrive.

He captioned an Instagram post of them looking loved up: “Found my partner in crime."

And it wasn't long until fans rushed to comment, with one writing: "“I have a feeling an engagement post is coming."

Another said: “If you like it then you should put a ring on it….#justsaying."

A third then questioned: “Sam where is the ring???”

Sam recently gushed over Zara in a previous interview with OK! where he told us "She really is one hell of a woman".

The TV star continued: "Seeing her career go from strength to strength, with all these documentaries and TV shows and campaigns, makes me so unbelievably proud.

"I used to think that the longer you’re with someone, there’s a higher chance of becoming too comfortable with one another and a bit too settled, but with Zara it’s the complete opposite."

He added that he finds her passion "so attractive", as he shared: "I’m constantly discovering new things about her that make me fall in love with her more. It’s so cool."
