Selena Gomez Glows in a Violet Silk Gown at the 'My Mind and Me' Premiere
Selena Gomez’s highly-anticipated My Mind & Me documentary debuts on Apple TV+ on November 4, offering an intimate and profound look into the artist’s mental health journey. Last night, Selena walked the red carpet at the American Film Institute Festival for the film’s Hollywood premiere, and, of course, she absolutely radiated from head-to-toe.
Styled by Kate Young, the multihyphenate stunned in a silk gown from Rodarte. On one shoulder, the striking violet frock featured a simple spaghetti strap, while on the other, it grew in dramatics with a loose, oversized bow that elegantly draped over her arm. For accessories, Selena went for glitz and glam with a statement ring and bejeweled chandelier earrings from David Webb, a sequined clutch, and crystallized heels from Italian brand Paris Texas.
The “Boyfriend” singer slicked her hair back into a tight, low bun. Going bold on the beauty, Selena showed off a smokey eye and dramatic lashes but scaled it back with a neutral lip. For her mani, Selena wore a luminous orange shade, painted by celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik.
Selena’s Rodarte gown costs $2,300 (😳😳😳) at Saks Fifth Avenue, but it’s not difficult to dupe for less. Below, we found a handful of dresses that are just as gorgeous as Selena’s, but will help you avoid breaking the bank.
During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show on November 2, the day of the My Mind & Me’s premiere, Selena revealed that she’s “scared” and “really nervous” for the documentary to come out. It’s a feeling she echoed in an interview with Rolling Stone, where she admitted that she almost stopped the film from being released.
“I’m just so nervous,” she told Rolling Stone. “Because I have the platform I have, it’s kind of like I’m sacrificing myself a little bit for a greater purpose. I don’t want that to sound dramatic, but I almost wasn’t going to put this out. God’s honest truth, a few weeks ago, I wasn’t sure I could do it.”
But she hopes that by documenting her personal journey, she will help others who struggle with their mental health. “I was like, ‘OK, if I can just do that for one person, imagine what it could do.’”
