Selena Gomez responds to viral TikTok about her weight during Justin Bieber relationship

Selena Gomez has left fans stunned after responding to a video which implies she was 'always skinny' during her relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

The short clip posted to TikTok included several image of the 30 year old actress – many with her rib cage on display – allegedly taken during the years she was with the Baby hitmaker, who is now 28 year olds. The caption reads: "The reason Selena is always skinny when she dates Justin."

Among the slideshow of images was a screenshot of a comment Selena reportedly made to a fan who had told her they support 'Jelena' but that Justin had 'messed up'.

The screenshot saw Selena's reply: "No love. He's rather models. I'm just too normal."

The former teen star simply responded by posting a sad-face emoji amongst the multitude of comments left below the video.

Selena's cryptic reply to the video has already accumulated almost 40,000 likes, with the original video itself gathering a total of 3.7 million views.

The video's comment section has since been flooded by the words of additional social media users, all of whom are offering their own perspective on what Selena's sad-face emoji message might mean, many offering her their condolences for having felt judged for her body.

Other fans referenced her 2015 Lupus diagnosis, which Selena takes medication – which can trigger weight loss and gain – for. She also received a kidney transplant in 2017.

Selena and Justin, then 18 and 16, were introduced to one another by their managers in 2009, eventually sparking a relationship between the two in 2010.

The years that followed saw the pair often calling off their relationship before quickly making amends.

In 2018 however, they made the decision to split for good, with Justin going on to marry model Hailey Baldwin and Selena dating both DJ Zedd and The Weeknd.

In April this year, 'Who Said' singer Selena uploaded a TikTok to her own personal account, slamming a number of followers who had make negative comments about her fluctuating weight.

Entertainment Tonight reported that the star had told viewers, "So I be trying to stay skinny, but I went to Jack in the Box and I got four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings and a spicy chicken sandwich."

The ex-Disney Channel favourite added: "But honestly, I don't care about my weight because people b***h about it anyway. 'You're too small. You're too big. That doesn't fit. Meh meh meh meh.

"B***h, I am perfect the way I am. Moral of the story? Bye."
