Singer Shakira, 45, reportedly ushered her children, friends and her friend’s children to the front of a queue at the Tower of Terror in Barcelona, while the rest of the visitors were subject to the 90 minute wait time. According to Spanish news site 20minutos.com the singer and her family “sneaked in”.
A source told Spanish site Socialité: “They began to separate everyone, and Shakira appeared with her children and two security agents and they sneaked in.
“Despite people crying out, Shakira doesn’t flinch. The organisation said that they let in whoever they wanted.”
The journalist went on to say that it was the singer’s attitude that “horrifies all the attendees,” going on to say that “everyone was outraged.”
“It is a very cr**ppy image,” they finished by saying.
Express.co.uk have contacted Shakira’s representatives for further comment.
The criticism of the Colombian singer comes after she posted pictures of her in multiple Halloween costumes via her Instagram page, which boasts 76.9 million followers.
The singer posted a series of photographs, one dressed as a cheerleader, the other as Wonder Woman and a third as an angel.
One of the posts was a montage of her in all three costumes, to which she added the caption: “The things one does for their kids. In costume all weekend just to see them smile!”
The video was accompanied by her song She Wolf, which played over the top. Gaining more than 700,000 likes on the single post alone, many complimented the 45-year-old singer on her glamorous costumes.
With many of the comments from her huge Spanish and Latin American fanbase, one user maishakifan commented: “The best mom ever!!!!”
Whilst another, under the name elahe.shakira added: “Happy Halloween queen.”
Wearing contact lenses to change the colour of her eyes and various wigs to complete the angel and Wonder Woman look, it was when the singer was dressed as a cheerleader that she went to the Halloween attraction.
Despite having enjoyed dressing up, especially as Wonder Woman, which the singer said was fulfilling her childhood dreams, the criticism from the Spanish news site is another in a turbulent time for the star.
Of late, Shakira and her longtime partner soccer player Gerard Piqué, 35, announced their breakup in June, releasing a statement.
The pair share two sons, Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven with Gerard now having moved on with new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti, 23.
In a recent interview with Elle, leading up to the release of her latest single Monotonía, the artist admitted it’s been a difficult period for her due to a variety of reasons, including media scrutiny.
She said: “I think that women, we are resilient. You know, we have this resiliency that is just innate in all of us.
“I need to become an example for my kids, that I need to be what they want, what I want them to become. And I want to be there, also, for all the people who have shown me their love and support. That is my biggest strength. That’s my most powerful engine right now.”
The singer finished by saying that she still has hope for herself and others going through hard times.
As well as dealing with her looming divorce, Shakira’s legal woes include an impending trial on six charges of tax fraud.
If found guilty, Spanish prosecutors could impose an eight year jail sentence and fine her €23.8m.
The singer has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
