Strictly Come Dancing champion Hamza Yassin’s performance past has been revealed as a video of him doing the Paso Doble in a university end-of-term show has resurfaced.
The wildlife presenter, 32, is seen moving around the dancefloor with members of the institution’s dance club in the clip which was filmed in 2012 at Bangor University in Wales where he studied for a degree in Zoology with Conservation.
Hamza, who was named as the winner of this year’s Strictly on Saturday night with his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal, is seen dressed in black attire as he performs with a female dressed in a red top and a black skirt.

It was previously suggested Hamza had little dance experience before the video came to light.
A fellow former student who took part in the university show told the Mirror: ‘For the BBC to continue insisting he is a complete novice even when faced with hard evidence in the form of a video of him performing an “advanced” Paso Doble feels extremely misleading.
‘Yet the mistruths were still being aired on Saturday’s show.’

Extracurricular activities: Hamza studied for a degree in Zoology with Conservation at Bangor University in Wales and was a member of the dance club in his spare time
A spokesperson for Hamza told the MailOnline: ‘Whilst Hamza was studying Zoology with Conservation at Bangor university, he took part in two amateur dance performances. He has never been professionally trained.’
The BBC declined to comment when contacted by the MailOnline.
After Hamza was announced as the winner of Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday, his professional partner Jowita said: ‘I think anything is possible. He’s just proof that anything is possible.

‘He came here on the show with no dancing experience, with pigeon toes and he worked hard, and he made it.
‘I would love to thank everybody, you are amazing.’
Earlier in the night, Hamza and Jowita opened the show with an eye-catching Salsa routine that earned them a score of 39 out of a possible 40 points from the judges.

Head judge Shirley Ballas said: ‘What a way to open the final of Strictly 2022.
‘I particularly wanted to see this dance again because I wondered if there was a possibility you could improve it anymore – and you did!’
Motsi Mabuse was similarly enthusiastic about their Salsa routine, saying: ‘Watching it a second time, I thought, “Will I love it?” I loved it more. It’s like you’re watching music in your body.’

Hamza – who has been hailed as the next David Attenborough – and Jowita subsequently returned to perform their Show Dance. They were awarded 34 points.
Craig Revel Horwood said: ‘I thought it was a little bit rocky and underwhelming if I’m honest. It did go a little bit wrong, which took you off balance.’
It comes after it emerged Strictly Come Dancing stars Hamza and Helen Skelton are to co-present Countryfile after impressing BBC bosses, according to insiders.

The pair have both appeared over the years on the hit show which brings in six million viewers, making it one of the BBC’s biggest programmes.
However, this won’t be the only deal the dancing stars will land after Hamza, 32, won Strictly on Saturday and Helen, 39, finished as runner-up.
A TV insider told The Sun: ‘It’s a huge opportunity for Hamza and Helen as Countryfile’s ratings eclipse most soap operas. But it’s unlikely to be the only project they both get.
‘Hamza is set to front his own nature show, while Helen is expected to get her own vehicle based around her adventurous and bubbly personality.’
