Strictly’s Kevin Clifton grimaces after suffering wardrobe malfunction on stage
Kevin Clifton says he’s too old and hanging up his dancing shoes
Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Kevin Clifton, 40, has revealed he suffered a wardrobe malfunction while performing live on stage at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow.
Kevin, who won the 16th series of the BBC show with partner Stacey Dooley, 36, is currently on a UK-wide tour with Strictly Ballroom: The Musical.
Based on the Baz Luhrmann film, the theatre performance has been directed by Craig Revel Horwood and stars the 40-year-old as Scott Hastings, an “arrogant, rebellious young ballroom dancer”.
However, Clifton has admitted that during last night’s show, he had a “mishap” with his costume.
On Tuesday, a fan who had been to see the musical took to Twitter to praise the dancer, but queried whether his trousers were “falling down” during the final number.

They wrote: “@kevinclifton was at the Theatre Royal Glasgow tonight, what a brilliant show & a great performance. (sic) Were your trousers falling down at the end lol!”
The actor retweeted the question and replied: “We did have a slight mishap with the last quick-change,” along with grimace and laughter emojis.
Since the Strictly Ballroom: The Musical tour began, fans have come out in their droves to praise Kevin and his co-star Faye Brookes, 35, for their performances.
