Taylor Swift beams in NYC as Matt Healy’s mum Denise Welch reveals details about him
Taylor Swift was beaming as she left the Electric Lady Studios in Manhattan, as rumours continue of a romance with The 1975 lead singer and frontman Matt Healy.
The Bad Blood singer, 33, donned a white shirt and dark denim shorts as she smiled while departing the studio, which had been mobbed by fans after it emerged she was recording there.
She completed her look with some brown sandals and carried her belongings in a brown handbag.
Taylor accessorised with a couple of gold rings and a pair of matching earrings and sported her signature red lipstick for the outing.
The singer is rumoured to have embarked on a romance with Matty following her split from British actor Joe Alwyn earlier this year.
A source told ET Online that the Shake It Off singer is "enjoying her time with Matty". They continued: "Taylor and Matty have known each other and have history so there's a comfortability factor there, but also feelings of excitement."
Matty's mum, Loose Women panellist Denise Welch recently opened up about her family to OK!, and while she didn't discuss her son's romance, she did candidly talk about his busy work schedule, his fan base, and his struggles with addiction.
She told us: "Matty is absolutely shattered. He’s on a world tour and as much as it’s hard to go, ‘Oh, please feel sorry for my boy,’ people don’t realise that it’s gruelling to be the lead singer, the creator, the writer, the producer of a massive show on the scale that Matthew does.
"Then he gets on stage and gets in a plane and flies seven hours and then flies 24 hours. It’s a wonderful life, but he’s absolutely exhausted and ready for a break. I’m so proud of both my sons."
She continued: "My son is a creative genius and I say that not just because he is my son. I’m privy to so much of the work he’s done before he hits the stage, what comes out of his mouth and out of his brain.
" I just think, ‘Sometimes I can’t believe I gave birth to you. Where are you from?’ Louis and him are so supportive of each other. Their dad is a brilliant actor, so he has come from two very creative people."
With the hype around Matty growing, we wonder if she too has found herself a new fanbase. “It makes me laugh,” she giggles. “I’ve always been very lucky that I’ve had quite a young fanbase.
"Obviously now it’s become a thing that when I go to one of Matthew’s shows and there’s like 15,000 people there, a pocket of them spot me and then the ripple goes around and they all start screaming and waving."
Opening up about her son's struggle with heroin addiction, which saw him admit himself into a rehab clinic in November 2017, Denise added: "Matty has had his demons and we’ve navigated them as a family and he’s come out the other side.
"We all support each other and I couldn’t be prouder of how he’s come through, with the help of his family and his friends."
