The Bill actor leaves huge £8 million fortune in his will

George Rossi left his estate to his wife Catrin, 56, as he named her as one of his executors alongside their daughter Matilda and son Santino.
The actor, who was best known for his role in the police drama The Bill, has left behind a fortune of £8million in his will.
According to reports, the ITV star left an estate of £8,059,966.67 after his death in January last year probate office figures revealed.
George, who was born in Glasgow, died after a battle with pancreatic cancer at age 60.
According to The Sun, after all debts and bills were paid, the estate was worth £3,660,996.36.

After his death, George’s niece, Louisa Rossi, who shared the sad news with the world, saying: “Unfortunately George Rossi who played DC Duncan Lennox passed away the morning of Wednesday 5th January 2022.”
Louisa said that her beloved uncle had been acting until shortly before his death as he wanted to continue doing what he loved most.
George’s close pal and casting director Claire Toeman penned a heartfelt tribute.
She said: “Rest in peace George Rossi you were the dearest of friends you will be sorely missed.”

She said that George’s role in The Bill saw him become a “firm favourite” among fans, adding that “he will always be remembered for portraying one of the most popular faces on The Bill in the late nineties”.
At the time of George’s death, his wife told MailOnline: “George was a wonderful person. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after losing his battle against pancreatic cancer.
“He died at home which is what he wanted. We will miss him terribly and we are all really grieving at the moment and trying to come to terms with this huge loss. The children are devastated as am I.”
George made his debut in The Bill in 1993 and would go on to appear in almost 200 episodes of the long-running procedural series, becoming a firm fan favourite until he departed the show 10 years later in 2003.
He had also appeared in many other popular TV series over the years, including Taggart, in which he played two different characters.
George started out working in his family’s ice cream business before training to become an actor at East 15 Acting School.
He made his debut in the 1984 movie Comfort & Joy, in which he starred alongside his brother Peter.
When his time on The Bill came to an end, he went on to play roles in the likes of Doctors and Casualty.
He worked alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest names too, including Scream’s David Arquette, X-Men’s Famke Janssen and Speed star Sandra Bullock.
