A woman who once appeared on The Chase has passed away.
Debbie’s husband confirmed her tragic death following a 17-year breast cancer battle, after a repeat of her episode was aired last week.
He wrote on Facebook: ‘Debbie, who was on the Chase on [Wednesday] and who Sean flirted with sadly lost her 17 year battle with cancer last week.
‘She was my beautiful wife and it was tough to see but at the same time lovely to see her how she was.
‘It was filmed about three years ago. She was one of the last to be filmed before lockdown.

Hilarious: In his tribute, her husband referred to a moment in which Chaser Shaun Wallace cheekily said, ‘Hello Debbie,’ when she racked up a £5,000 cash prize
‘She had breast cancer 14 years before this that had been away for a number of years, but about a year after she filmed this it came back in her bones and then in her brain.’
Her husband had been referring to a moment in which Chaser Shaun Wallace cheekily said, ‘Hello Debbie,’ when she racked up a £5,000 cash prize.
Presenter Bradley Walsh then yelled: ‘What was that?’ before Debbie teased back: ‘Hello Shaun! See I wasn’t being flirty was I?’
Bradley replied: ‘Well I don’t know about that!’ but Shaun rushed to her defence.
Debbie had competed on the ITV game show in 2021 but unfortunately didn’t make it to the final alongside her fellow contestants, George and Helen.
Viewers of the show shared their condolences online, with one writing, ‘How desperately sad for you all, she came across as a very lovely lady.’
Another added: ‘It’s a condition I have had, I am sure she enjoyed every minute of being on the show, brave lady.’
