Travis Scott Won't Face Criminal Charges Over Deadly Astroworld Crowd Crush
No criminal charges will be filed against Travis Scott or other organizers of the deadly Astroworld music festival, as none of them were found responsible for the tragedy.
Ten people were killed and hundreds of others were injured in a stampede during the music concert held at Rolling Loud in Miami on 2021 November 5.
The concert went on for 40 minutes even after the accident occurred.
Hundreds of lawsuits were filed against Scott, surprise performer Drake, and organizers of the music festival.
After 19 months of investigation, Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said at a press conference on Thursday, “Our job is narrow. It is to determine if this tragedy, this absolutely disastrous, horrific event, involved criminal activity by anyone. In this instance, the grand jury found that no crime did occur — that no single individual was criminally responsible.”
Although Scott and the others were not charged in the case, a number of other civil litigations are pending against the Astroworld organizers.
