U2 Reportedly Set To Launch 2023 Las Vegas Residency At MSG Sphere
U2 are reportedly set launch a residency at the all-new MSG Sphere in Las Vegas in 2023, marking the iconic band’s first live performance in four years.
According to Billboard, U2 will be the first group to perform at the MSG Sphere at The Venetian in Las Vegas when the $1.8 billion arena opens next year. The high-tech arena is being built by Madison Square Garden Entertainment chairman James Dolan.
The MSG Sphere reportedly will offer fans a multi-sensory experience of sound and light inside the largest spherical structure ever created. For concerts, the MSG Sphere at The Venetian can hold 20,000 standing spectators or 17,500 seated guests, with 23 VIP suites.
U2 has not performed a U.S. concert since the North American leg of their Experience + Innocence tour wrapped up in July 2018. The band last played together onstage in December 2019 when their Joshua Tree anniversary tour ended in Mumbai, India.
