Ulrika Jonsson, 55, paid tribute to her daughter today as she turned 22 by sharing a sweet message on Instagram. The Gladiators star has previously opened up about Bo Jonsson’s heartbreaking health struggles.

In view of her 204,000 followers, Ulrika shared a moving video montage including different pictures of Bo throughout her life to the tune of Harry Styles’ song As It Was.

She captioned the sweet snaps: “My darling girl. 22 today!

“How you got this far in life remains a mystery but is definitely a miracle of hope and medicine.

“You’re determined; wilful; obstinate. You see your goals and you just go for them,” Ulrika continued.

“Proud to smithereens that you’ve become a @norlandcollege @nannybojonsson – a vocation you were made for.”

Bo has recently finished her training at Norland College, which provides a three year training course for aspiring nannies and those looking to work in early education.

Students receive an Early Childhood Education and Care (BA Hons) degree and Norland Diploma upon graduating.

As well as expressing how proud she was of her daughter, Ulrika also lamented how they will inevitably have less time together as they both grow older.

“With every year that passes, our time together becomes less and less,” she wrote.

“That’s just how it is. But it’s not As It Was. Harry knows that.”

“Love you so very much. Mamma,” the star signed off affectionately.

Last year, Ulrika marked the anniversary of her daughter’s terrifying open heart surgery operation with a heartbreaking photo.

21 years ago, when Bo was just a baby, she had to undergo a serious operation to treat her health condition.

She was born with a double inlet left ventricle defect, a congenital defect that affects the valves and chambers of the heart.

In the picture of her daughter in the paediatric intensive care unit, Bo had a large red scar running down her chest as well as multiple tubes coming out of her body.

At the time, the Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star wrote: “GRAPHIC CONTENT: 2nd pic is Bo on this day 20yrs ago. PICU day after her first open-heart surgery,” she added, before adding the hashtags, “#911 #chd”.

To show how times had changed, she also included a cute black and white snap of her and her daughter pulling funny faces at the camera.

This year was a much happier story, as Ulrika’s followers took to the comments section to compliment her now-grown-up daughter.

“Beautiful young lady,” penned former Loose Women star Saira Khan, while journalist Rachel Roddy wrote: “Bright beauty”.

Meanwhile, Kate Dommett felt for Ulrika, writing: “I hate the fact we stop seeing our children so often… And certainly the whole family together is really only once a year now… Twice if we’re lucky.

“See them individually a bit more but still. Sad… But that’s what happens. Happy birthday to your beautiful girl.” (sic)

Karen Mulvihill commented: “A credit to you. I felt so much empathy for you at the time of Bo’s birth. You were unbelievably brave and had so much resilience.

“It was so hard and you had little emotional support. But you did what you could and held fast. Both of you true warriors and examples of goodness.” (sic)
