Vicky Pattison and Molly-Mae Hague support Kate Ferdinand after devastating miscarriage
Vicky Pattinson and Molly-Mae Hague are some of the celebs who have thrown their support behind Kate Ferdinand, after the star revealed that she had suffered a devastating miscarriage.
The 31 year old wife of footballing legend Rio Ferdinand, 43, took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce the sad news of her miscarriage, as she posted a black and white snap of herself in a hospital gown.
She wrote: "The last time I was in this hospital I was having Cree, but this time it was because our baby had no heartbeat in our 12 week scan and I had to have surgery.
"We were so excited & planning a space for our new baby in our family, we just couldn’t wait to share our news with you all, but unfortunately sometimes life just doesn’t go as we plan.
"So much to say, but somehow I can’t find the words. Absolutely devastated & heartbroken …but couldn’t be more grateful for the hugs I got from my big(er) babies coming through the door when we arrived home."
Former The Only Way is Essex star Kate shares 20 month old son, Cree, with Rio, and is stepmother to his children, Lorenz, 15, Tate, 13, and ten year old Tia.
Ex-Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattinson threw her support behind Vicky, commenting on her post: "I'm so sorry babe".
Former Love Island star Molly-Mae also commented on the post, writing: "I’m so beyond sorry Kate. sending you all [love] the in the world."
Our Girl actress Michelle Keegan wrote: "So sorry Kate. Sending you so much love", whilst former TOWIE star Sam Faiers commented: "This is heartbreaking. sending you lots of love and strength x x".
Before Kate's post, she and Rio had not announced that they were expecting again, with Kate posting family holiday snaps five days ago, captioning the post: "A fabulous time spent with family & friends".
Rio and Kate married in a luxe ceremony in Marmaris, Turkey in 2020 after dating for three years.
The pair shared their wedding photos exclusively with OK! Magazine, and Rio recalled the moment he saw Kate walking down the aisle, saying: “I cried as soon as the day started. Seeing Tia walk up the aisle before Kate set me off. It was just so emotional.
"There was just no going back on the emotion, that’s why I had to keep my shades on! Seeing Tate and Lorenz walk Kate down the aisle was particularly poignant and we wouldn’t have wanted to do it any other way. They were so proud and they couldn’t wait to do that, they felt important."
Kate added: “Having the boys walk me down the aisle was just amazing. It was a hugely important moment for me and they did so well. Seeing Rio at the altar made me feel so happy, I couldn’t wait to get to him, especially as he was so emotional.
"It was everything that I had imagined it to be, but I didn’t cry at that moment. I cried all my tears in the morning!”
