Victoria Beckhams new posh accent confuses bemused fans

Victoria Beckham has confused fans with a new 'posh' accent.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday (21 Aug), Victoria, who has recently launched her own plus-size fashion line, posted a new make up tutorial promising to reveal how she achieves her "signature smokey eye" look with some of her products.

Addressing her 30.2 million followers, she said: "So, I want to show you how I create my updated signature smokey eye". She began to talk through the look with a new eyeliner in her Satin Kajal liner range, in the shade Fig.

She captioned the reel: "My new favourite shade for creating a modern smokey eye.

"The rich, matte aubergine brightens every eye colour and gives the most amazing drama! I just love it!"

But fans were quick to notice her voice had changed slightly.

"She never used to speak like this," commented one, while another agreed: "I never remember her being that posh whilst in Spice Girls."

Another commented: "I love her but I swear she didn't always sound like this certainly not in Spice Girls days. I know she's Posh Spice but girllll."

"She has a London accent," another replied. "She was never posh, just posh compared to her bandmates."

Others accused her of putting the accent on altogether.

"Hysterical put on way of talking!" another commented. "Check out Spice Girls videos she definitely did not sound like that. Just be yourself especially as you're no teenager!! Sad."

While another replied: "Sorry but tries too hard with her accent, not natural at all."

Others were simply bemused by the reel itself, which promised to be a tutorial with Victoria showing her fans how she updates her "signature smokey eye look" with an aubergine hue.

However, the video cut before Victoria had given a proper demonstration.

"How come we didn't see you apply your eye make up?" questioned one fan.

Another was confused: "I was waiting on the application then the video stopped.. I'm confused. Where's the tutorial."

While another questioned the point of the video in the first place: "She's promoting it, but I don't see her applying it. Too much talking not enough action."

The launch of new products in her make up range, as well as the launch of Victoria's fashion label's plus-size line, comes amid news that her fashion line is struggling, having reportedly racked up over £53 million in debt.

She has been praised for finally "catching up" by offering clothes in sizes up to a UK size 18.

A source told MailOnline: "Finally Victoria has caught up. It's great and she is extremely proud of her new collection.

"There is a whole new customer out there to buy her products but let's face it, it has taken her a while but at least she is changing things."
