Jeremy Clarkson was stunned during Saturday’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire? as the contestants broke a 14-year record.
Host Jeremy, 62, asked the players to put a number of birds in order of weight from heaviest to lightest in the Fastest Finger First round, which the contenders compete in before the speediest person takes the hot seat to play the main game.
The choices were ostrich, hummingbird, blackbird and chicken, with three people answering in the correct order – ostrich, chicken, blackbird, hummingbird.

After initially being rendered speechless, Jeremy said: ‘I can’t believe that, 0.74 seconds, that’s less than a second. We’ve established that your fingers work very well, but what about this?,’ as he pointed to his head.
Michelle replied: ‘Hopefully the adrenaline will help, we’ll see how we go.’

During his appearance on the show, the players were asked: ‘Put these stages of a Formula 1 Grand Prix in the order they are encountered by a driver.’
The options were penultimate lap, chequered flag, starting grid and first corner, with the correct order being starting grid, first corner, penultimate lap, chequered flag.

Jeremy, who has hosted the series since 2018, smiled and continued.
He said: ‘That’s exactly what it means. You are absolutely right, I will be seeing you in about an hour’s time, but as far as the viewer is concerned you are going home, you’re going to be panicking “oh no” and then I will see you next week.
‘Maria will be back next time, it says on the autocue, to see if she can get further than £4,000,’ he joked.
