A woman has shared a four-ingredient air fryer banana bread recipe that’s only 135 calories per slice.
Laura Nightingale, from Surrey, took to her Instagram page @cakeontherun to share the tasty low calorie recipe.
The recipe serves four people and is a healthy sweet treat which uses just four simple ingredients, flour, banana, egg and honey or maple syrup.
Many of her followers were blown away by the simplistic recipe, with one writing: ‘Looks SO delicious!’

The British baker started off using 100g of self-raising flour, one overripe banana, and two tbsp of honey or maple syrup.
Meanwhile she also advised using one egg if you’re not vegan, or half a can of chickpea water if you are,
In the clip Laura started by mashing the banana in a bowl until it had become a paste texture.
She then added the flour, honey, egg and stirred the mixture together before spooning it into a small oven-proof dish with baking parchment paper.

Recipe for air-fryer banana bread
Ingredients
- 100g of self-raising flour
- One overripe banana
- Two tbsp of honey or maple syrup
- One egg/ 1/2 can of chickpea water
1. Whisk an egg or, if vegan, drain a can of chickpeas and whisk the water until foamy
2. Mash the banana in a bowl
3. Add flour, syrup and 5 tbsp of the foamy chickpea water OR the whisked egg
4. Stir everything with a spoon until combined
5. Line an oven-proof dish with baking paper and pour in mixture
6. Air fry for 13 mins at 180C
She then popped the mixture into the air fryer at 180C for 13 minutes.
Laura put some decorative banana slices on top of the mixture, before it went into the fryer.
Next to the mouth watering clip she wrote: ‘HEALTHY banana bread in an AIR FRYER. 4 ingredients, no butter or milk. @cakeontherun recipe below.
‘Makes 4 – 135 calories per slice, 100g (1/2 cup, 4oz) self-raising flour or all purpose with 1/2 tsp baking powder (I use gluten free) 1 large overripe banana, 1/2 can chickpea water OR 1 egg, 2 tbsp syrup of choice.
‘Drain a can of chickpeas and whisk the water until foamy OR whisk 1 egg.
‘Mash banana in a bowl then add flour, syrup & 5 tbsp of the foamy chickpea water OR the whisked egg.
‘Stir everything with a spoon until combined, line a small oven-proof dish with baking parchment & pour mixture in. Air fry on 180C for 13 mins. Or oven bake in an oven for 15-20 mins.’
