Ben Affleck & Jennifer Lopez Splurge On $60 Million Mansion With Dark Past
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez recently dopped $60 million on a new mansion in Beverly Hills, even though it has a criminal past, though it apparently wasn’t dark enough to deter the couple from going through with the purchase.
Known as the Wallingford Estate, the property comes with 2 acres of land and a massive main property, featuring 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms.

Ben and JLo purchased the home rom real estate developer Gala Asher, who transformed the home in her near-decade of owning it. However, the home was caught up in a criminal controversy right before Gala bought it.
Saudi Prince Majed Abdulaziz Al-Saud had bought the mansion in 2015, only to be arrested for assault shortly after, though he was never prosecuted for the crime.
The prince had purchased the home from Jeoung Lee, a South Korean businesswoman, who often used it as a rental property. But Lee had bought the property from another owner who got into criminal trouble Curtis Somoza.

The businessman owned the house from 2004 to 2007, before being convicted of running a $25 million Ponzi scheme. He was sentenced to 25 years in jail.
Ben and JLo’s new purchase comes after nearly two years of house hunting. They were spotted looking at an $85 million mansion in August 2021.
The home would’ve offered the couple 38,000 square feet of living space, which was likely attractive for their blended family – Ben has three kids from his past marriage to Jennifer Garner, while JLo has a set of twins from her relationship with Marc Anthony.
Ultimately, the couple passed on the mega mansion, and went on to tie the knot the following year without going in on a house together (though they own multiple properties individually).

Ben and JLo almost made a purchased in April 2022 when they reportedly put in an offer on a $55 million mansion in Bel-Air. The deal later fell through for undisclosed reasons.
The duo – who will soon celebrate their 1 year wedding anniversary – are both selling other properties. JLo has one of her California properties on the market for $40 million. She recently reduced the asking price by a few million in a bid to find a buyer quickly.
For his part, Ben listed his Pacific Palisades mansion for $30 million in December. He bought the bachelor pad following his split from Jennifer Garner in 2018.
