Best wedding guest dress rental sites as Selfridges is named the ‘cheapest’
Weddings and big events can be expensive, even if you’re only attending as a guest. A new outfit to fit the theme of the day or night can set you back hundreds of pounds, and even worse, because of all the photography going on, you might feel you won’t be able to reuse the ensemble for a long time.
So what’s the solution? You rent your outfit. Simply borrowing a dress or a jumpsuit for just the few days you need it means you’re being economical both financially and environmentally. Plus, with dozens of online sites now offering hiring services, you have plenty of choice from brands that previously may not have been in your budget.
In fact, a new study fromVoucherCodes.co.ukshows Selfridges Rental as the cheapest dress rental destination – something you might not assume considering the designer labels it stocks. Comparing the cost of renting ten popular wedding guest dress brands, including Reformation, Rixo, and Ganni, for four days, Selfridges worked out as cheaper than renting from By Rotation and HURR – two other popular rental sites.
How does dress hiring work exactly?
It’s very simple. Head to your chosen hire site and scroll through the outfits, narrowing down your search by size, style, occasion and/or price. You then select how long you want to rent the outfit for – usually a minimum of three days – before you click through to pay for your option.
You’ll then be able to select the date you need the item to arrive, and you’ll also receive instructions on sending the product back. The washing and steaming process is typically taken care of by the brand or private lender.
