Predictions for the Alvarez vs Ryder fight
Much of the talk leading up to this fight has been about Canelo’s inevitable rematch with Dimitri Bivol. John Ryder will relish this opportunity to cause what would be considered one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. Alvarez holds four of the belts at Super Middleweight. He comes into this fight with a record of 58-2-2. His only losses came against Floyd Mayweather and Bivol. Ryder’s record stands at 32-5.
Canelo’s boxing resume is a great one. He has wins over the likes of Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Callum Smith, Daniel Jacobs and Gennady Golovkin.
John Ryder will become the seventh Briton to step in the ring with Canelo. The previous six have been unable to stop the Mexican and the bookmakers are expecting Saturday to be no different. However. Ryder is a consummate professional. He has been bullish about his chances of victory ahead of the showdown. The 34-year-old has promised not to be overawed by the occasions with a party atmosphere expected in Guadalajara.
The bout against Canelo in front of a crowd of 50,000 on the Mexican holiday of Cinco De Mayo will prove to be extremely lucrative for the man who has held multiple interim belts. Should he achieve the impossible he will etch his name into the annals of history.
