Carla Bruni has praised Prince Harry’s ‘sincere’ memoirs in an impassioned Instagram post.
The former first lady of France, 55, who is married to former president Nicolas Sarkozy, shared her highly positive review of the Duke of Sussex’s explosive book Spare, saying she read it in one go, with ‘great emotion and interest.’
Writing in both French and English in her social media post, the model and singer called the book is ‘daring,’ ‘brave’ and ‘new,’ and said Prince Harry, 38, is his mother’s son.
She added that it is rare for ‘someone in such a position to be so sincere, so clear, so true.’

‘I loved Prince Harry of Sussex’s book, I read it in one go and with great emotion and interest,’ Carla wrote.
‘It is rare for someone whose existence is so radically predestined to fight for a life, his own life, like any of us, like you and me,’ she added.
‘It’s brave, it’s daring, it’s new: but Prince Harry is indeed his mother’s son,’ she said of the book.
She added that she could feel ‘Prince Harry’s heart […] beating on every page,’ and that it ‘tells us something that concerns us all and whoever we are’.
Writing in both French and English in her social media post , the model and singer said the book is ‘daring,’ ‘brave’ and ‘new,’ and quipped Prince Harry, 38, is his mother’s son
The former first lady also said Prince Harry is ‘his mother’s son’ and that the book was ‘daring,’ ‘brave’ and ‘new’
She continued: ‘We only have one life and we have to live it as much as possible according to our instinct, according to our happiness.’
The model concluded her impromptu review of the book by writing: ‘Life is too short and too pointless to believe that happiness doesn’t matter.
‘No life should deprive itself of the little happiness that awaits it, that is in truth what this book, so singular and so interesting, teaches us,’ she added.
It comes weeks after Bruni was accused of ‘condoning racism’ for using an edited picture of Prince Harry and his wife, replacing Meghan Markle’s head with Yoko Ono’s.
Carla’s review of the book was very popular and called the Duke of York’s explosive memoirs ‘sincere
She posted the photoshopped image to her 750,000 followers with the lyrics to All You Need is Love by The Beatles.
The wife of Nicholas Sarkozy even tagged the Royal Family in the post which some praised but others criticised as ‘racist’ for comparing the two women of colour and their supposed influence over their husbands.
Ono is regularly cited as the main reason the Beatles broke up, despite the Fab Four denying her involvement.
Like the Duchess of Sussex, Ono was an actress who moved to the UK to marry into a world famous British institution, but soon left for the US amid a dramatic rupture.
Some critics believe today that the idea she was a Svengali-like figure who ensnared John Lennon and deliberately caused the breakup of the biggest band of all time was a narrative rooted in sexism and racism.

Similarly, while some have questioned Meghan’s role in Harry’s continuing war of words against the royals, others say it is unfair to blame her for his decision to ditch his family and launch missiles at Buckingham Palace from the US.
During the media blitz for his new memoir Spare which was released this month, the Duchess of Sussex has remained out of sight.
One person commented on Bruni’s post: ‘No. Not funny. Why would you post something so insensitive? Seriously. Why are you condoning racism and supporting hateful rhetoric?
‘Meghan has been the target of multiple death threats in recent years, Yoko was threatened many years ago and then John was murdered… This post reveals a lot about you… and it’s disappointing.’
Another said: ‘This is disrespectful and racist towards women of colour I love you so much it fills me with sadness to see you hitting such a low level on your social media platform.’
A Twitter user wrote: ‘Carla Bruni, a white woman, continuing to blame WOC [women Women of Colour] for the decisions their white partners make.
‘Funny that they never blame any of the white female partners. Ugh, I’m upset I ever admired Carla. I’m done with her.’
Bruni, Sarkozy’s third wife, previously courted her own controversy in France after dating renowned philosopher and TV personality Raphaël Enthoven, and his publisher and author father Jean-Paul Enthoven.
