Cher Is Selling Her Long-Time Malibu Mansion For $85 Million

Cher has listed her long-time Malibu mansion for $85 million, and there’s good reason the estate carries such a high price tag. The home comes with a variety of impressive features, including a climate-controlled wig room (seriously).

According to Dirt, Cher originally purchased the 1.7-acre property in 1998 for a little under $3 million. She proceeded to build the custom mansion with the help of builder Wallace Tutt III and designer Ron Wilson. Robert Kass and Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland are representing Cher as she tries to sell the property.

“Every room has two different views of the ocean,” Cher previously said of the home. “This house wraps its arms around you.”

The main house has over 13,200 square feet of living space, including 7 bedrooms. The home comes with a chef’s kitchen, private theatre, and separate guesthouse. The outdoor amenities include an infinity-edge pool, a Moorish-style fountain, and a tennis court.

But one of the most unique features of the home is the climate-controlled room that houses Cher’s collection of 100+ wigs.

As to why she decided to sell, Cher explained to Architectural Digest, “This house has been one of the greatest passions of my life. I have enjoyed every moment of its creation and evolution, but now it’s time to pass this magic on to others.”

This isn’t the first time Cher has tried to offload the home. She reportedly attempted to sell over a decade ago, and was seeking around $45 million at the time, though it didn’t sell.

This may be Cher’s most elaborate home, but the singer has had plenty of properties to her name over the years. And with a reported net worth of $360 million, it’s not hard to understand why.

Cher has owned homes in London, Hawaii, Florida, Hollywood, Venice Beach, and Beverly Hills, just to name a few places.

She previously owned a 7 bedroom, 9 bathroom home in Los Angeles with her ex-husband Sonny Bono. They bought it in 1967 for $250,000 but sold it only a few years later. Sonny and Cher also used to own the Owlwood Estate, which comes with a whopping 10 acres of property. The home was last sold in 2016 for around $115 million.

Though Cher seems ready to sell her Malibu mansion, she’s going to need a buyer with big pockets given the high price tag.
