China's London-themed resort has Big Ben, Abbey Road and double-decker buses

Fancy visiting a real home away from home?

Well, this luxury London-themed resort in China could be just the thing.

The Londoner Macao has replicated more London landmarks than you can shake a stick at – from Number 10 Downing Street to Big Ben, which overlooks two heated outdoor pools. Perfect for a surreal swimming experience.

The resort, which includes two hotels, The Londoner Hotel and Londoner Court, also has replicas of the iconic Abbey Road, the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, and even Downing Street’s Larry the Cat.

Once a day there’s a very elaborate Changing of the Guard ceremony à la Buckingham Palace, and a double-decker bus you can pose on for pics.

Located in what’s known as ‘the Las Vegas of Asia’, there’s even a black cab at the resort that you can jump into for a virtual tour of London, courtesy of a hologram of David Beckham, who also designed 14 suites at the hotel.

And yes, the Big Ben in the replica Elizabeth Tower does bong on the hour.

Not only that, but there’s even a little light show on the clock face.

As for the food, of course, there’s afternoon tea.

If your tastes veer towards the gourmet, the resort’s Churchill’s Table restaurant serves fish and chips, and the Churchill’s Table Boutique has beef Wellington and Sunday roasts.

Fancy it?

Rooms for two at The Londoner Hotel are going for prices starting at around $5,600 [£564] a night at the time of writing, and at Londoner Court, their best rates are a whopping $22,900 [£2,306] for a room for one night.
