Christina Aguilera just recreated her Dirrty two-tone hair 20 years after first wearing it
When you’re a superstar, who do you dress up as for Halloween? Well, Christina Aguilera goes as herself, it seems – and why not? We’ve got the singer to thank for some iconic noughties beauty looks, so it only seems fitting that she should recreate one for the spooky season.
Her look of choice is from her Dirrty music video, which came out 20 years ago (we know, it feels like yesterday). Though she hasn’t gone back to her 90s-era thin eyebrows, Xtina has perfectly recreated everything else from the 2002 video right down to the two-tone hair and doll lashes.
“Where my fighters at?” she captions theTikTok video, sharing snippets from her 20 years ago as well as her modern take on the look.
“When she dresses up as herself for Halloween,” one follower comments.
Another says: “Going as yourself for Halloween…iconic,” while a third writes: “This is the only comeback of 2000s fashion I will be accepting at this time.”
It barely looks like Xtina has aged a day since she first debuted the two-tone hair and the risqué chap trousers. Though she’s now 41, plenty of TikTok users have been left wondering whether she really did recreate the look or whether she was simply using old video footage. However, her thicker eyebrows confirm she has indeed got the leather ensemble out of the wardrobe for a 2022 outing.
Xtina’s Dirrty outfit and beauty look have been copied time and time again during the Halloween period by party goers and other celebs alike. Kylie Jenner famously did her own take on it for Halloween 2016. The look was so convincing that fans still talk about the transformation today.
"Can I be XTINA forever?" Kylie captioned the Instagram video of her costume, complete with leather chaps and a micro bralette.
Fast forward to Halloween 2022 and we’re already seeing some impressive transformations from A-listers. Our favourite so far comes from Hailey Bieber, who swapped her mid-brunette hair colour for a fiery red hue.
We’ll be ready and waiting for more Halloween makeovers as they happen this week!
