Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach’s life off screen including hunky boyfriend and proposal rumours

Actress Ellie Leach is best known for playing Faye Windass on long running soap Coronation Street.

Faye landed on the cobbles in 2011, when she was adopted by residents Anna and Eddie Windass.

She had a rocky start on the show when she fell pregnant aged just 13 and struggled to bond with her newborn daughter, Miley, who she eventually gave up to the custody of the baby’s dad, Jackson, and his family.

The teenager later endured an early menopause storyline which left her unlikely to conceive again, an issue which could affect up to 1 in 100 young women.

Faye now has an incredibly difficult decision to make as she comes face to face with her estranged daughter, who has spent all of her life up until now in Canada.

Although audiences are well abreast of Faye’s life, what do they know about the actress who plays her? Take a look at Ellie’s leach off-camera.

Early career

Ellie, now 22, secured her role on the soap at the tender age of 10 after growing up near Bury in Manchester, but it wasn’t totally unknown territory for the young star.

Her cousin, Brooke Vincent, was already starring in the long-running series as Sophie Webster and had been for five years when Ellie was cast in the show.

And Ellie herself already had some prior experience on the small screen.

She had previously starred in 2009 film A Boy Called Dad, which was the feature film debut of now-acclaimed director Brian Percival, who later went on to direct The Book Thief and much of Downton Abbey.

Ellie also appeared in one episode of the anthology series Moving On and in a number of adverts, including for fast food brand McDonald’s.

Love life

Ellie has been happily loved up with model and dancer boyfriend Reagan Pettman who she began dating in July 2018.

The loved up pair regularly post sweet snaps together and Reagan recently posted a heartfelt message for his girlfriend’s birthday in which he wrote, “I’m so lucky to have you. I love you so much beautiful.”

Ellie was forced to deny she was engaged to her beau in January 2023 after a string of loved up posts from their New Year’s Eve holiday to Tenerife convinced fans the two were set to tie the knot.

Fans mistook one picture, of Ellie in a flowing white top, for a veil and another said they were “expecting a proposal at the end of them pics.”

However, Ellie – who is often said to look wildly different to the character she plays – rushed to deny the speculation and jokingly replied, “hahaha not quite.”

So it looks like the couple aren't ready to take that step just yet!
