Euromillions winners can't find buyer for their Chelsea-themed mansion
Euromillions winners who scooped £108m jackpot can’t find a buyer for their £9m Chelsea-themed mansion
- Dave Dawes, 53, and his wife Angela, 49, bought the property in 2012
- They have installed a Chelsea F.C. bar and a tiled badge in their pool
Former factory worker Dave Dawes, 53, and his wife Angela, 49, bought the property for the same amount in 2012.
They have installed a giant tiled Chelsea F.C. badge on the bottom of their indoor pool and a bar that also honours the club.
The property is located close to the club’s training ground in Cobham, Surrey, and has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, five receptions, a leisure complex and a sauna.
The mansion was up for sale for a year but the couple have now taken it off the market because they were not able to find a buyer.

The couple bought the property for £9m in 2012 and tried to sell it for the same price
It comes as Chelsea are underperforming in the Premier League in 11th place, with interim manager Frank Lampard replacing Graham Potter after he was sacked earlier this month.
One local said: ‘You’d think having the Chelsea logo across the bottom of the pool would be a major selling point.
‘It’s in Chelsea’s heartland and surrounded by past and present stars from the side.
‘I suppose the good news for them is they don’t really need to worry about it too much – not when they’re worth £100million.’
The listing for the mansion read: ‘Set under a glass roof, the pool area is flooded with natural light, with the far wall devoted to wide opening doors overlooking the gardens.
‘A gym with sauna and changing facilities completes the leisure complex.
‘A kitchen with fully integrated modern appliances also comes with a breakfast bar, and adjoining pantry and laundry room, and leads through to a breath-taking orangery.’
Dave Dawes, left, and his partner Angela, from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire scooped £101,203,600.70 on the EuroMillions lottery in October 2011

Standing on 1.5 acres of land, the property offers 13,000 square feet and is surrounded by 900 acres of natural woodland.
Before winning the lottery Mr Dawes worked as a shift supervisor for Premier Foods and Mrs Dawes was a volunteer for the British Heart Foundation.
The couple became Britain’s seventh biggest winners after landing the jackpot in 2011.
They had only ever played twice and couldn’t believe their luck.
After buying a new engagement ring and planning their dream wedding and several holidays, they made their closest friends and family members millionaires by giving away large chunks of their money.
The couple, who are originally from Wisbech in Cambridgeshire, initially splashed out on a £4.5million for a flat in Fulham, West London, just ten minutes from Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge stadium.
In 2017 the couple were forced to go to court when Mr Dawes’ son, an Afghanistan veteran, Michael Dawes, 32, said his father was ‘ungenerous in spirit’ after he had cut him out of the will

They then moved into a property in Etchingham, East Sussex, where singer Tom Jones lived with Engelbert Humperdinck in the 1960s.
In 2019, they were targeted and robbed, with the criminals making off with £20,000 in cash, jewellery and a Range Rover.

A judge ruled at Central London County Court that Mr Dawes did not need to keep bailing out his son, who burnt through £1.6million in two years and came back for more, failing to heed his stepmother’s advice to stop eating at the Ritz and go to McDonald’s instead.
He comprehensively dismissed Michael and partner James Beedle’s claim, ruling: ‘There was no basis on which any rational or normal human being could conclude that they could go back for more money whenever they wanted.’
