Fast food shortage fears at KFC, Burger King and Pizza Hut as hundreds of workers vote to strike | The Sun
BRITS could face fast food shortages as 400 workers have voted to strike.
The employees who work delivering food to KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut and Wagamama are set to strike over a real terms pay cut.
They are members of the GMB Union working at Best Food Logistics, which delivers food to big fast-food chains.
A majority of 76% of those who voted were in favour of industrial action, according to GMB.
The drivers, who also deliver fresh food to the likes of Pizza Express and Zizzi, will reportedly announce strike dates imminently.
GMB claims the action will lead to shortages at these restaurants over Christmas.

Nadine Houghton, GMB national officer, said: “The parent companies of Best Food – Booker and Tesco – are making serious money.
“Shareholders are trousering large dividends, while the people who do the graft are struggling to make ends meet.
"All these workers want is a pay deal that protects them from this crushing cost of living crisis.
“Now, some of the best know restaurants on the UK’s high streets will face shortages over Christmas.”

The Sun has reached out to KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Wagamama, Pizza Express and Zizzi for confirmation if their supplies will be impacted by the strikes.
We have also contacted Best Food Logistics for comment.
We will update this story when we hear back.
It comes as last month workers rejected a 6% pay offer, which was below the then rate of inflation which was 9.9%.
The rate of inflation currently stands at 11.1%.
The union said the offer wouldn't "protect" staff against the cost of living crisis.
It's not the only time big chains have faced food disruption.
KFC paused one of its weekly food offers in July because of a shortage of chicken.
Last year, it faced weeks of disruption because of food shortages.
While Pizza Hut ran out of ice cream last year, and was forced to close a number of its popular ice cream factories due to supply issues.
Other companies have been locked in pay battles with workers this year too.
