Home renovated by Amanda Holden and Alan Carr for their BBC show is now up for sale

The home renovated byAmanda Holden&Alan Carrfor their BBC One show Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job is now officially on the market.

The formerly derelict two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment bought for two euros, is located in Salemi, Sicily and is listed with Sotheby’s International Realty in Italy for €145,000. All proceeds of the sale will be split between Comic Relief and Children In Need.

The 120 square meter space is fully equipped with furniture, air conditioning, and heating and features a generously sized living area, dining room, and kitchen, ideal for hosting guests or unwinding after exploring the charming Salemi town.

On Rightmove, the listing describes: “The three balconies offer breath-taking views of the landscape, making this the perfect spot to watch the sunset.

“It also comes with a shared, walled courtyard, perfect for al fresco dining or just enjoying the Mediterranean sunshine.”

Upon arriving in Salemi, a town located thirty minutes away from the capital city of Palermo, Alan and Amanda discovered that the abandoned site had been occupied by squatters and was strewn with litter and damaged furniture.

Over the course of three months, they demolished walls, applied plaster, put up wallpaper, laid floors and tiles, and personally handpicked all of the decorations and furnishings to transform the space. In the concluding episode of the series, airing tonight, viewers will witness the completed project, which they named Casa Alamanda, as a nod to both of them.

Upon completing the project, Amanda exclaims: “It’s gorgeous! Even though our tastes are very different, it’s got a really lovely flow. I feel a bit sad it’s done. I really love it.”

The series has successfully pulled in 4.5million viewers, with theBBCalready planning a second run for next year in a different location. And that’s not all, searches on Rightmove for homes in Sicily have more than tripled since the show began at the beginning of January, compared with the same period last year.

Amanda previously revealed how the show came from a desire to do something nice for close pal Alan to distract him from his split from husband Paul Drayton earlier this year.

Speaking exclusively to OK! the 46 year old comedy king revealed he plans to take a break from showbiz, admitting he hopes to "have some time with myself" after he and his former beau of 14 years announced in January that they'd parted ways.

"I've never been so bloody busy," he told us, discussing his ongoing Regional Trinket comedy tour.

"It’s great because it means I’m always moving and have got lots of things distracting me and things to look forward to.

"But next year I’m going to put me first. I’m going to take a break and just have some time with myself."
