I cant be in crowded places now – I get such anxiety I feel faint, says Frankie Essex
Former TOWIE star Frankie Essex gave birth to her twins, whom she shares with boyfriend Luke Love, in May and has since revealed to the world that they’ve named their little bundles of joy Logan and Luella.
In her exclusive column for OK! , Frankie has discussed a range of topics in regards to motherhood – from her first social outing with the twins and a blackout at her home when they were just a few days old, to “feeling more human again” as the babies dropped their dreaded 2am feed.
This week, Frankie opens up about separating the twins at night time, her bad anxiety episodes, and helping close pal Amy Childs preparing for the arrival of her twins…
I’ve separated the twins at night time
I’ve separated the twins. They don’t sleep in the same room anymore. I’ve had them apart for about four or five nights now. Luella’s in the nursery in her own cot, and Logan’s still in our room next to us and they’ve been sleeping straight through.
I’ve haven’t got out of bed to feed them or shush them back to sleep for the past five nights.
With Luella’s dummy, I let her have it to fall asleep with as a comfort when her eyes start going, but once she spits it out it’s gone. Then, if she cries for it, I’m not there to help her put it back in. I’m trying to ease her off the dummy. Now Logan isn’t being woken up by her either. He might have a little whinge, but it has worked out lovely.
We have a monitor in Luella’s room and it’s one where it has voice recognition and switches on when she cries, meaning that it’s not on all the time and the light won’t bother her.
It’s really worked out brilliantly. Logan woke up today at 6:45am, and by the time I brought him downstairs, put a new nappy on him and went back upstairs, Luella was awake with a big smile on her face.
It’s so nice and refreshing. I feel like a different person because I'm finally sleeping properly! All I’ve got to do now is put them in a room together, but I’m going to leave it a good week or so so that Luella can get settled in before I introduce Logan into the nursery.

My anxiety has been flaring up…
When I’m in crowded places, I already get really bad anxiety. I went to The Baby Show on Friday and I felt a bit faint. The whole time I was there I couldn’t concentrate and a lot was going on.
I liked it during COVID when everyone had to walk one way and leave space between people in supermarkets. I don’t like it when people barge into me. Places are so busy now, we’re definitely overpopulated.
Amy Childs has been calling me at least once a day
I can’t wait to meet Amy’s babies. It’s not long now! She literally rings me at least once a day just asking me questions about what I think about something.
She’ll be fine when they’re here. I know how hard it is so I’ll definitely message her. I know what it’s like – it’s bloody hard. If you’ve never had twins before, you just don’t know.
It was my mum’s 60th birthday last week
Last week was my late mum’s 60th and, obviously, I was a bit upset. It’s just sad, isn’t it? It was a sad day because, obviously it’s her 60th, but she’s not here to be a mum and a nan.
60 is so young. She was only 37 when she died.
Joey did a tribute to her on Dancing on Ice and when they do the show, I think the plan’s already written in, but it was weird that the week they did personal songs was the same week as my mum’s 60th.
Watching Joey’s performance was a lot. Luke was out on Sunday so I was watching the show on my own while crying. It was okay though. I watched it then got an early night.
Come back next week to hear more from Frankie.
