A man loves getting Botox even though he's in his 20s – and says people can invest in their skin if they splash the cash on nights out.

Sean Perth, 24, from Dublin, got the injections three times and it's something he hopes to maintain.

He opened up about the decision to rid his wrinkles due to the rise in demand for "Brotox".

The term "Brotox" refers to cosmetic procedures for men – as more men are turning to it to help boost their confidence and even careers, especially since the beginning of the pandemic.

It's a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that botulinum toxin injections have become much more popular among men than ever before.

Sean is one of many young men who have had the procedure to enhance his image.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Sean said he's had a few treatments at Sisu Clinic – and he's more than happy with the results.

He was never unhappy with his image before, but he just knew he didn't want the lines on his face to worsen.

"I had noticed some lines on my forehead and near my eyes," he said.

"It wasn't that they made me unhappy, but I didn't want them to get worse.

"I definitely was a confident person, but I definitely am more confident now for sure.

"I didn't want an overdone look. They listened to what I wanted, and gave me good advice."

Sean had Botox on his forehead, brow line and underneath his eyes.

He said he still wanted a "little movement" in his face, and knew the image he hoped to achieve.

It lasts around three to four months before you need a top up, though he said he'll probably try and go a bit longer as he has youth in his favour.

Sean said everything at Sisu Clinic is doctor led, so they listen to what you want and know how best to achieve results.

When asked why he thinks so many young men are turning to Botox, he said: "I think it's just because of the way society is changing.

"You don't have to be a masculine man – you can look after your appearance. You can look after yourself.

"If you are spending a lot of money on a night out, you can spend it on yourself."

Sean said it's all about research when it comes to finding a clinic that's right for you.

He said you want to find somewhere that has a good reputation and great reviews.

At Sisu he said the experience was "amazing", and he felt both welcome and relaxed.

Not to mention – he didn't even feel any pain.

"I didn't feel it," he added. "I'm not really good with needles, but I didn't feel it.

"One or two pinches around the eyes, and that was it."

Dr Brian Cotter, Co-Founder and Medical Doctor of Sisu Clinic, said he thinks there's been a "societal shift" over the last few years.

Due to the effects of social media more people want to improve their image, and he said this was also impacted by the pandemic.

He said, during the period dubbed the "Zoom boom", he noticed a jump in young men coming into the clinic for advice.

Dr Cotter said: "As a result of the pandemic we got more younger clients – as a result of the working from home period – they would spend eight hours a day looking at a screen.

"Then they'd see these bags under their eyes and, when you look at the screen, everyone looks a bit wider.

"It's gone from wanting to look younger to wanting to look better and sharper."

He said people don't necessarily want to change themselves – they just want to give their look a bit of a boost.

For many he said it's a bit like "putting on a new suit".

What's more – he said all clients vary – and people would be shocked at the types of men who swing by.

"People would be surprised by the blokes who come in," he added.

"There are CEOs, mechanics, carpenters, doctors. It's quite varied really."

For men, Botox is the most popular treatment at the moment, but he said people should always do their research before deciding to take the plunge.
