‘I’m EastEnders super fan and love Shirley Carter – my girlfriend is her double’

A woman whose "childhood crush" was Shirley Carter revealed her fiancée is doppelganger gutsy character.

Anna, 31, from Nottinghamshire, has watched EastEnders for all of her life.

The soap super fan took a particular liking to one of the much-loved characters to grace Albert Square.

And now, the mum has found love with Kerry, 38, who strikes an uncanny resemblance to the fictional former pub landlady.

The couple – who now create content on TikTok for a living – recently went viral after Anna revealed that Shirley was her "childhood crush."

She shared photos of Shirley and then of Kerry, who has the same blonde pixie cut as the feisty Miss Carter.

"My childhood crush vs my fiancée now," Anna expressed in the caption of the clip that has over 1million views.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Anna and Kerry shared how their devotion to Shirley shot them into social media fame.

"We love Shirley," the pair declared. "She’s feisty and doesn’t care what people think…but I don't fancy her.

“It was more of a sketch because so many people call Kerry 'Shirley Carter' as well as 'the long one'.

“The thing that attracted me to Kerry is that I thought she was beautiful and her tattoos, but even as a Shirley Carter she still looks fit.

“But when I got to know her, her personality was amazing too.

“We have both watched EastEnders from when we were children and we still watch it now… Shirley come back!"

Anna and Kerry met at the beginning of 2018 when they were dropping their kids at school.

The Shirley Carter fantatic then proposed to Kerry on her birthday in the summer of the same year.

They frequently post their family life with their four kids to their 755,000 TikTok followers as 'Kerana208'.

Hopefully for Anna, Shirley will make a comeback to Walford one day.

Shirley Carter, played by Linda Henry, departed from EastEnders at the end of 2022 after Mick Carter's tragic disappearance.

But, for now, she has her very own version at home.

“The reaction has been hilarious,” Anna chuckled in regards to the viral TikTok video.

“We can’t help but laugh at the comments.

“Some get the joke and have commented how we just roll with the hate.

“Others have taken it seriously and have been shocked.

"Some people have understood why I fancy Kerry because of Shirley, so it’s been very mixed."
